Båstad Golf Club's two courses are beautifully situated in hilly terrain on the Bjäre Peninsula. Both are varied and require great precision. Gamla Banan, which is Sweden's second oldest 18-hole course, is a classic among Swedish park courses.

In the spring of 1930, the Gamla Banan was inaugurated, which is Sweden's second 18-hole course. It was designed by architects Hawtree & Taylor. It is a typical English park course, with well bunkered undulating greens.

Among those who made pars and bogeys on the opening day was the then Crown Prince who, together with Prince Sigvard and Consul General Carl Bergsten, could state with satisfaction: "This is one of the finest courses in Sweden, indeed in the entire Nordic region". A judgment that has stood the test of time.
