Dagens industri wrote in 2001 about how the tennis weeks gives local businesses a boost, but that at the same time there´s a lot of work put down into attract other groups such as sailors and golfers. Even back then there was several sailing competitions held in the area. The vision was to create the largest sailing week in Sweden. They also wrote about The Winter Swimming Festival (Vinterbadarfestivalen), which was held for the first time in december of that year, everything to attract visitors year round.
Expressen has also given Båstad och Bjärehalvön attention.
