Can shop 100% locally for the dinner party? Things are going great on the Bjäre Peninsula. Cultivated, produced or processed here in the area was the starting point for the challenge.
Imagine you have a dinner party. You have an empty table to set and a dinner to cook. You have a car (of course a well-maintained old sports car with the roof down), it's summer and exactly all the shops are open on this particular day. 100% local for the dinner party - shall we drive?
Table setting
We take the Italian road to Boarp, just above Båstad. On The Weaver we find a beautiful linen cloth and accompanying napkins. On Design House Stockholm Open located across the road are fancy plates. We buy cutlery at The magazine in Båstad and everything else we need we can find here The barn in Boarp. Here we also select some nice vases and candlesticks. At Elin's Flowers can you purchase a nice bouquet for the setting. At Maria Torget you will find Linghoff Interior a lovely interior design shop with a showroom where everyone is welcome to be inspired and find what you are missing.
Drinks and snacks
Bjärechips (which win best-in-test every so often) and Båstadöl make an excellent start to the evening. To that a little good cold cuts from Lindegren's. This is off to a really good start.
Main course
Freshly picked fresh potatoes are a must, and we buy them directly from one of all the fine farm shops such as the greengrocer's wagon in Ingelstorp. Bjäre's rapeseed oil and flake salt top off the freshly boiled potatoes. We buy lamb meat and organic eggs as well as locally produced rapeseed oil Äppelundens Gårdsbutik on beautiful Påarpsvägen. Tomatoes from Tåstarp or Viken are available at, for example, Heberleins in Förslöv, and we serve them simply sliced with salt, pepper and cream cheese from Ebbesson's farm dairy in Mäsinge. In addition to this, a shortbread from Boathouse Bakery in Båstads Hamn and a white mold cheese from Ebbessons. Unfortunately, wine is not yet available to buy at the system company from any of the local vineyards, but you can find them at several local restaurants - wines from Thora Vineyard, Vejby Winery or Ljungbyholm's vineyard. Alcohol-free alternative will be of course apple must from Kattvik.
Dessert
Raspberries and blueberries are purchased from the farm shop Bjäre bär, and from those organic eggs from Ekhems we make a sabayonne that is served with. From The Chocolaterian we also display colorful chocolates and run a guessing game on the flavoring.
No problem at all, it turned out. But, you can't take it? Take your friends out to the pub instead.
